In 1926, Dion Fortune was contacted by a group of Elemental Beings who transmitted to her the words which came to be known as 'The Chant of the Elements.' This beautiful invocation is rarely seen in its entirety and we are very pleased to be able to include it in our website. The Elemental Beings who communicated these words to Dion Fortune emphasised that it was the Green Ray contacts that would bring Power into her magical Fraternity. The magical work associated with the Blue Ray of Hermetic Wisdom and the Purple Ray of Devotion were already well established and had built a strong foundation, but the creative power of Green Ray of Elemental Magic was now given to her.

What a wonderful and powerful piece this is.
I have copied it out onto one sheet of paper so I can carry it about with me. That means it will be there at any time I come across the sort of place to which it is appropriate - I am hopeful too that, in that way, I may be able to learn and absorb more of it a little more quickly.

'The Chant of the Elements' is indeed a wonderful piece of work. It seems to me to be rather different from DF's other work in that I am not aware of any other work of hers that is so purely elemental (except for parts of her fiction), but perhaps that is just because I have not yet come across it. I would be interested to hear of any other DF work which has such an elemental nature.
